Description
The Systems Administrator will oversee the functions and maintenance of all systems equipment and computers within the company. Plan, coordinate, direct and design the IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative support for daily operational activities of the IT Department. Responsibilities also include maintaining data center, performing data backup, monitoring equipment and troubleshooting all IT related issues.
The Systems Administrator’s duties and responsibilities include, but not be limited to:
- Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
- Administer support to latest Windows Server and Linux Server Administration.
- Administer support to Microsoft Azure Server and Services to keep Applications and Databases functioning 24/7.
- Ensure Firewall system is running at optimum.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
- Design and deploy networks
- Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways
- Continuous update of organisation website and intranet.
- Provide network support with a variety of operating systems.
- Maintain and administer SAN Network to optimize performance.
- Administer Active Directory feature to set up user accounts, permissions and passwords.
- Ensure all SQL Databases are backup and updated when requested.
- Experience in applying Vmware and Microsoft Hyper-V Administration
- Install and configure computer network equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades
- Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.
- Ensure network security and connectivity is at optimum level.
- Ensure network resources are backup and recovery (Daily, Weekly and Monthly).
- Resolve problems reported by end users.
- Define network policies and procedures.
- Specify system requirements and design solutions.
- Research and make recommendations on server system administration.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a computer-related field.
- Certifications in CCNA or CCNP Certification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Network Administration.
- Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including [firewalls, Routers and Switches].
