System Administrator

Description

The Systems Administrator will oversee the functions and maintenance of all systems equipment and computers within the company. Plan, coordinate, direct and design the IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative support for daily operational activities of the IT Department. Responsibilities also include maintaining data center, performing data backup, monitoring equipment and troubleshooting all IT related issues.

The Systems Administrator’s duties and responsibilities include, but not be limited to:

  • Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software systems
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary
  • Manage servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software, VPN gateways and intrusion detection systems.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a computer-related field.
  • Certifications in CCNA or CCNP Certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Network Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including [firewalls, Routers and Switches].
